Deku Solo Vigilante Era

Without a license or school, he saves everyone anyway.

Lore & Background

During this time, All Might secretly monitored his successor, providing guidance from afar while grappling with the guilt of having pushed Izuku too far. The era highlighted the harsh reality of a society where legality often clashes with morality; Izuku faced constant threats from both villains and law enforcement, yet he persisted in protecting the weak. This solitude forced him to refine his combat style and mental fortitude, laying the groundwork for his eventual return as a fully realized hero.

In Their Own Story

Rain slicked the neon-lit alleyway, masking the heavy breathing of the boy in the tattered green cloak. Below, a mugging was unfolding, the victim's cries muffled by the city's roar. Izuku didn't hesitate. He dropped from the fire escape, landing with a thunderous impact that cracked the pavement. The thugs barely had time to scream before he moved, his movements fluid yet restrained, careful not to unleash the full force of the emerald lightning crackling around him. In this moment, no badge, no school crest, and no license mattered. There was only the instinct to save.

Reader's Guide

The era begins immediately after Izuku is suspended from U.A., following his unauthorized use of One For All during the sports festival finals. Realizing he cannot control the power without risking injury to himself or others, he leaves campus to train in isolation under All Might's covert supervision.

During this time, Izuku roams the city as an unlicensed vigilante, intervening in crimes and rescuing civilians while evading police capture. He wears a modified version of his hero costume, lacking the official U.A. insignia, symbolizing his break from institutional rules. His actions draw attention from both the public and the authorities, creating tension regarding the definition of heroism versus criminality.

The arc culminates with the revelation that Izuku's vigilante activities were known to key figures like All Might and Aizawa, who ultimately decide to reinstate him into U.A. after recognizing his growth and the necessity of his return for the looming conflict. This period solidifies Izuku's resolve to become a hero regardless of bureaucratic hurdles.
